Oh, Christmas tree...

Momkat tried to pull one over on us this year.
The past couple years she would haul out the Christmas boxes and put up a little 4 foot tall tree on the end table. Just the right size that us cats can't climb in it. I figure it was because the first couple years when I was a kitten I kept trying to climb the big tree, sometimes making it really far up! Of course, I was an only kitten back then, now I have Roxie and Tiger to play with, and mom says 3 cats climbing the tree can only lead to disaster, so we have had the little tree.
This year was different. Mom decided she wanted to put up the big tree, but thought she'd be sneaky. The first night she only put up the tree without any pretty toys on it. This was to get us "acclimated" to the tree without breaking anything. We would go and lay down under the tree because it was so warm from the million lights on it, but we were careful to stay out of the tree itself.
The next night mom put the toys on the tree, making sure the bottom branches had only soft mini beanie bears or plastic ornaments. We were very good and left them alone, but still liked to sleep under the warm lights. Every day mom put out something new..window lights, wreaths, and the Nativity set that we were not to touch ever. SantyPaws was watching thru the window, she said, so if we were naughty, he's leave us chunks of coal instead of catnip toys.
The week before Christmas, mom came home with a present for us. Seems the Christmas tree skirt she had was old, so she bought a new one. She got down on the floor and laid out the new one, flipped the tree lights on and stood back to behold the effect. Let me tell you, that nice warm felt tree skirt and those lights made laying under the tree like a tropical vacation....so nice and warm; I fell asleep dreaming of a warm Hawaiian holiday on the beach waiting for sushi tidbits to be dropped by unsuspecting beach goers.
All of the sudden, WHAM! SLIDE! HISS! Roxie and Tiger were playing tag and they ran down the hall, cut across the tree skirt going in to the kitchen and what do you know? Turns out the tree skirt with it's satiny backing is better than a slip and slide! WHOO HOO! Imagine the fun we can have with this! Guess mom heard me thinking out loud again, because she took the skirt away.
She did put the skirt back on Christmas eve morning, and proceeded to cover it up with boxes and packages with fun bows and string. We got distracted by the smell of holiday ham baking, and then everybody came over to the house for the Christmas Party and we were too busy begging and doing our cute tricks for food tidbits.
Our little Christmas stockings were hung by the TV with care, and after dinner we were surprised to smell catnip! Santy Paws had left us each a little catnip fishy in our stockings! The people also had bows they threw on the floor which we loved to chase and bat down the halls. We sure slept good that night.
By noon on Christmas day the slip and slide disappeared again. Mom says maybe she'll put it up next year if we are good.

Meows, everyone!
I am so happy to be home again. I didn't feel well on Saturday. I threw up and then I laid around moaning and whining (totally not my nature!) I felt so bad that I had to go to the emergency vet. They poked and prodded, gave me an antibiotic shot and a sedative. They sent me home with some pain medicine for a urine infection and some anti-anxiety pills. Momma had to work so I stayed with my human brother Kyle and Jenn, (his girlfriend) for a day. Now, I admit to getting cranky when strangers hold me, but I am not an agressive cat. I was hurting! Tomorrow I will go to my real Vet to get checked out.

Meows, everyone. I spent the day sleeping and snoring. It was so hot outside that even the lil lizzards would not come out to play on the patio..they spent the day hiding under the hot tub steps. Even my feline sibkits slept..hot weather makes us do that.
Anyway, this is me on the cover of a CD. My human brother has a band, and they chose me to be on the cover. You can even buy it on Itunes..good indie rock.
I was all ready for my first modelling job. My fur was washed and fluffed (yes, the dreaded bath), humom put on my fancy green plaid collar with the emeralds that match my eyes, and then I was off to the shoot! The picture were taken in a very fine studio...humom's hallway. I had to sit on a chair and stare at the dangling ball like I was serious. I did not want to look at it tho...until I was baited with lil pieces of steak. Finally they rubbed the little string ball with the steeak, and 70 pictures later they finally called it a wrap. I was full from all the steak, and let me tell you. I slept great that night! I think Roxie and Darlin were a little jealous cuz I got so much steak, but i know humom gave them a treat.
While nobody has recognized me and asked for my pawtograph yet, The day will come soon. I better go find some star-worthy sunglasses.

Meows, everyone. My name is Baby Jude. I am an 8 year old tuxedo cat, but I look more like a cowcat. Everyone says I am most beautiful, especially my green eyes with the black eyeliner.
I live in Florida with my humom, and my 2 adopted sibkats, Roxie and Darlin. Roxie is another Tuxedo..she is 7. She came to live with us when she was a babykit, and thought I was her mom. Darlin came to live with us last year. She is a 4 year old purebred Toyger, but she is not stuck up or anything with her being petigreed and all. She is a real sweetie, even if she talks too much, mol!
We also have our cousinkits staying with us cuz their daddy is sick....Quint is a bad kitty who likes to knock stuff off of tables (my humom gets really mad at him..he broke her candleholders)
Katie is a Russian Blue that has no tail, she is very tiny, weighs only 5 lbs full grown. she is a scaredy cat, hides under furniture most of the day. Artie is humongous..no other way to describe him. He weighs over 20 lbs and is the biggest cat I have ever seen. Humom says he is the quietest, most sweet kitty, but we know that he is acually a spy for basement cat. He spends his day at the entrance to the hallway, daring us to cross over. I think he's gurading the gates to hell myself.
Well, thats all fur now....I have to go finish staring at the lil lizards on the back patio.
Hugs and headbutts,
Baby Jude
